Copenhagen Fashion Week

Copenhagen Fashion Week – held 7th – 10th August 2018 – heralds the largest fashion and design gathering in the entire Nordic region. Held in Denmark’s hygge-filled city of Copenhagen, this week brings the well-heeled fashion crowd clacking from near and far, all of whom are clutching at their entry passes to sample the latest in Copenhagen’s innovative design.

Known for a freer style of design that is unencumbered by the rigours, influences and demands of larger metropolitan cities such as London or New York, Copenhagen Fashion Week really shows off designers who have been left to do their own thing. A fact that is obvious from a peek at the likes of established fashion star, Henrik Vibskov, through to up-and-coming design scene newbie, Cecilie Bahnsen

With over 50 designers walking their fashion wares over these five days – from feminine powerhouse Munthe to classic Danish icon By Malene Birger, to Astrid Andersen striding forth with sports + comfort meets high-end luxe - alongside the presence of pioneering fashion and design trade fair CIFF - there has never been a better time to dip your toe into the immersive world of Copenhagen fashion + design.

Ever a pioneer of all things ‘green’, Copenhagen also fronts fashion’s support for the environment through The Green Walk, an initiative to help you recognise ethical fashion brands through their guideline icons, spanning ‘Organic’ to ‘Recycled’ to ‘Fair’. As such, an array of ethical fashion brands are also set to take to the stage, from the established likes of Patagonia to concept stores such as BauBau, a second-hand space for men with an infinite grip on Scandi style.

For the perfect fashion-crowd base – sadly a spot you’ll have to reserve until the next Copenhagen Fashion Week in February though – is soon-to-be opened Sanders, a hotel of bohemian glamour and effortless cool-crowd style. A place to be seen, or watch from a well-decked corner.
