Summer Pop-up Restaurant: The Hidden Garden Zürich

Oriental flavours court German Wines at this fab off-the-radar foodie pop-up The Hidden Garden at the restaurant Smith and de Luma in the heart of Zurich.  For a limited period from 19 July till 11 August, eager foodies can savour the culinary delights of celebrity TV Chef Adrian Tschanz – the affectionately crowned ‘Kitchen Rocker’ in collaboration with the new-to-open The Hide Hotel Flims (hotel doors set to open for this winter ski season) and the German Wine Institute (DWI).

The Hide Hotel Flims, which opens its doors in the Swiss Alps on December 15, 2018, is behind the gastronomy concept of the pop-up.

"At The hidden garden, we want to whet our appetite for our new Mountain Hideaway," says Daniel Mani of The Hide Hotel Flims.

"Guests can thus already gain an impression of the kitchen design and interior style of The Hide Hotel Flims, and our oriental-inspired dishes harmonize perfectly with the aromas of German wines."

At lunchtime, pop-up offers smaller, lighter fare such as a salad with pomegranate seeds and grilled watermelon or hummus and baba ghanoush with bread.

In the evening, Adrian Tschanz, "Kitchen Rocker" of The Hide Hotel Flims, composes a weekly changing, exciting menu. Both the starters and soups, as well as the main courses can always be ordered purely vegetarian or vegan or combined with fish and meat. The dessert comes as a surprise.

The Hidden Garden is located in the outdoor and event area inside the Smith and de Luma restaurant, which is in summer break during the pop-up. Guests can lounge in a lounge with small tables for two or a group of friends, or alternatively in the covered restaurant area, decorated with oriental towels, fresh spices, lanterns and stylish furniture. The velvety noble materiality as well as the colour palette come from the interior concept of The Hide Hotel Flims.

The Hide Hotel Flims opens in late December for this winter ski season - a luxury boutique hotel created in the design of a modern mountain resort. With the ski lifts Foppa and Tal Station right on the doorstep, access to the natural beauty of Flims Laax Falera with its 224km pistes is simple affair using the clever inhouse Mountain Concierge Services.
